Board of Directors
Jeana Whitaker (President): Ms. Whitaker founded the North Valley Community Playhouse
in 2001 has over 30 years of experience in community theatre, professional theatre, video
and film. Her extensive knowledge of theatre includes acting, directing, technical direction,
and instruction. In video and film production, she has worked independently for Granada
Films, Century Productions, HBO, Showtime, ESPN and Fox Sports West. In addition, she has
15 years of public education experience and currently holds a Master’s Degree in Theatre
Education.
Marco A. Valadez (Vice President) : Marco has been a software quality assurance
consultant for ten years working with the State of Arizona, Cabella's, PetSmart and JDA. He
has recently left the corporate world to start his own company, Handy Home Works,
providing quality home repair services. His land development projects in Rocky Point, Mexico
also keeps him busy when he is not at the theatre serving as our technical director.
Wendy Roman (Secretary): Wendy Roman comes to Phoenix via New York City. She has
been a valley resident for 11 years. Ms. Roman has 24 years experience in Broadway and
Community Theater. She also has 20 years experience in Musical Theater. Currently she
holds a position with the Foundation for Senior Adult Living working with Alzheimer patients.
Sheila Vertuno (Member): Sheila relocated from California in 1994, to continue her career
with American Express. While Sheila has been a long time volunteer of various non-profit
organizations within the valley, she joined the North Valley Community Playhouse after
completing her Business on Board Workshop with the Arts and Business Council. Her
interest in theatre dates back to her short acting stints during her high school days,
however, with her background in Finance, Sheila offers her time and assistance in budgeting
and financial planning, as well as growing the organization in any way she can help. Sheila
holds a B.S. degree in Global Business Management-Finance and a B.A in Economics.
Ginna Hoff (Financial Advisor To The Board) : Ginna is an experienced Accounting
Professional (CPA) and contributes her professional help in many, many ways.
