Callbacks will consist of cold reads and movement.

Principal Roles:  
Georges- A star, mature and attractive; good singer;         
                      energetic and caring; must move well.

                      
Albin - a performer of star quality; mature; great
                       powerhouse of a Broadway voice; fine comic actor

                      
Jean-Michel - About 20 years old.  Handsome, brunette,
                      masculine, well-mannered, educated; desperately in love
                      with his financee, Anne

                      
Jacob - Black or Latino male butler/maid in his early 20's
                      Brilliant comedian who sings and moves well.

                     
 Anne - 18-20 yrs. old.  Jean-Michel's fiancee.  Lovely to
                      look at, spunky.  A superb dancer who acts well.

                      
Dindon - Anne's father.  Right-wing radical politician;
                       pompous, quirky, must sing and move well.  A fine
                      comedian.

                      
Marie Dindon - Anne's mother.  48 - 52.  Shy, retiring,
                       sexually repressed and sex starved.  good singer and
                       actress who moves well.

                      
Jacqueline - mature female friend of Georges and Albin,
                      owns a chic restaurant, attractive, charming and very
                      theatrical.  not necessarily a singer.

                      
Renaud - mature, male friend of Georges and Albin -
                      owns a small cafe, understudies both male leads
              
                      
Francis - male stage manager in Georges club, strong actor

                      12 - 24 other roles - ALL MALE - chorus

Synopsis:  This is the musical version of "The Birdcage"  Albin and Georges
popular female impersonators starring in the drag queen show, Les
Cagelles. Problems arise when Georges' twenty-five year old son,
Jean-Michel, a result from a brief encounter years back, announces that he
is engaged to Anne Dindon, the daughter of a well-known politician,
Edouard Dindon. Anne's parents want to come and meet Jean-Michel's
mother and father. Little do they know that Albin, a man, has essentially
been Jean-Michel's mother figure his whole life.
