Die! Mommy! Die! Aug. 14 – Sept. 6, 2008
Angela Arden, a fallen pop diva trapped in a hateful marriage to film producer Sussman
is desperate to find happiness with her younger lover. Angela gruesomely murders her
husband with the aid of a poisoned suppository, leaving her two children to avenge
their father's death.
Misery Sept. 25 – Oct. 18, 2008
Best-selling novelist Paul Sheldon is on his way home from his Colorado hideaway after
completing his latest book, when he crashes his car in a freak blizzard. Paul is critically
injured, but is rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes, Paul's "number one fan". She
takes Paul back to her remote house in the mountains to nurse him back to health.
However, hen she discovers that Paul’s new novel does not feature her heroine,
Misery, she forces him to destroy the manuscript and write another. Thus begins Paul’
s descent into a living hell, writing a new chapter every day simply to stay alive.
All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten Oct. 30 – Nov. 22, 2008
Based on Robert Fulghum's best-selling books, Kindergarten takes a funny, insightful,
heartwarming look at what is profound in everyday life. It's an evening of theatrical
storytelling in revue format, with monologues, dialogues, and multiple voice narration,
enhanced through the use of live piano underscoring, which provides fluidity, charm,
and emotional texture. These stories celebrate our very existence, from the whimsy of
childhood to the wisdom of old age.
A Very Drag Christmas Dec. 5 – 20, 2008
A fun holiday musical revue that isn’t your typical holiday show. Featuring holiday
music and original skits this holiday show is sure to make even the grumpiest Grinch
laugh and smile!
Lonely Planet Jan. 8 – 31, 2009
This compassionate play reveals friendship and fear in the age of AIDS. An existential
meditation on human isolation and connection, this is the story of two friends, Jody
and Carl. When Jody needs to take an AIDS test, Carl tries to convince him that it is
okay for him to leave the safety of his map store and take responsibility for his life.
Filled with humor and sardonic wit, this play reveals the value of true friendship and
love.
OZ! Feb. 18 – March 13, 2009
The timeless "Wizard of Oz" tale has been adapted into a dazzling musical. A cyclone
carries Dorothy and Toto to the magical Land of Oz. From there, Baum's lovable
characters, rubber-legged Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and Tin Woodsman, join Dorothy
on a journey to meet the great Oz.
Rumors April 1 – April 24, 2009
The Brocks are throwing a 10th anniversary party for themselves and have invited four
couples that are their closest friends. When the first couple arrives, they find Charley
in a bedroom, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the ear lobe, and Myra is nowhere to
be found. Couple #1 conspires to conceal this mystery from the other couples,
unsuccessfully, and with the arrival of each couple, the hilarity and nonsense escalate,
until the local police arrive to try, in vain, to sort it all out.
Heidi Chronicles May 13 – June 5, 2009
Heidi Holland, a woman on the long and often bumpy road of self-discovery from the
1960s to 1990s. The story follows her path from high-school egghead, to feminist
supporter, to intellectual art dealer/mother, and chronicles her ups and downs and
revelations. Gradually distancing herself from her friends, she watches them move
from the idealism and political radicalism of their college years through militant
feminism, and eventually back to materialism that they had sought to reject in the
first place.
